4.6
#1 of 7 in Parks in Graz
Nature / Park Must See
Walk around Grazer Schlossberg, the public park offering extensive views of the city, and home to a fortress, castle, and clock tower. Sit down and relax on benches and grassy areas throughout the park, take in a show at one of the entertainment venues, and enjoy a meal at one of the cafes or restaurants. Explore the walking paths across the park, and walk or take the elevator or funicular to the top of the hill for the best views of the city. Dress in layers for warmth, as the top of the hill can be windy. Put Grazer Schlossberg into our Graz travel itinerary planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Graz.

In our opinion the Schlossberg (especially in winter) is a real dream! Definitely belongs to the "must Lakes" in Graz! The Outlook in the evening at sunset is gorgeous! We recommend also the climb via stairs, although exhausting, but worth it! Elevator can drive everyone ;) Otherwise you can not say much only caution (especially in the winter/fall), da wirds really slippery: P

The ascent with their own muscle power increases the experience tremendously. The slow rise releases new perspective.

Short ride, great view, efficient service if you can't climb up under your own steam. Great experience for the kids. The cars are mostly in the shade but the glass ceiling and little ventilation makes it challenging in 30+ degrees

Not like a hell of a lot to do here, but I like the food at the top, and the view is wonderful. A good way to get yourself situated. Pro tip: take the elevator up, then walk your way down.

Great views of the city and surrounding area. Nice streets to walk around and grab a drink or listen to people playing music. Can walk up or take the elevator within the mountain.

Great place to hang out. It seems to be a good place for children as well. The view of the city is amazing!

Amazing views of the city, well worth climbing the 200+ steps for. Very peaceful and pleasant gardens. A lovely place just to wander around.

Where to stay in Graz

Austria’s second-largest city offers a large selection of accommodation options for every type of traveler. Outside of the city’s core in the Lend district are more affordable lodgings. Roughly a ten-minute walk to the Altstadt, this area provides an economical alternative while still keeping you close to the attractions. If you’re willing to compromise on privacy, the best prices are in private accommodations in local homes. Often this means sharing a bathroom with other guests and occasionally even the homeowners.
