Gollinger Wasserfall, Golling an der Salzach

(4.8/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Admire the thundering sound and striking beauty of Gollinger Wasserfall, tumbling some 75 m (246 ft) over rugged cliffs in a two-tiered cascade. Originating from a grotto about 1 km (0.6 mi) away, the falls have inspired numerous painters and poets through the ages, and many consider it one of the most attractive and romantic sights in the area. Karl Philipp, Prince of Schwarzenberg, commissioned a scenic path to the fall in 1805. The waterfall is a 10-minute walk from the nearest parking lot, and lies close to a late Gothic church. • The waterfalls are beautiful with all the snow around. There is still quite a significant flow of water. I walked right to the base.
  • Really nice scenic waterfall with beautiful hiking trails outside of the path up to the waterfall is probably not for walking difficulties but who are railing all the way and the trip is worth the effort, the two euro was worth the whole trip. The trip up is about 15-30 min.

  • After a long walk we finally arrived the nice waterfalls of Gollinger. it's a nice trip and also suitable for kids.
  • Short hike, you will get wet at the top but worth the climb and stairs. Beautiful rainbow halfway up if it's a sunny day. Very much worth the 2.5 euro to hike this.
  • A must see in the area Suited for children, easy walk of about 30 minutes Beautiful and romantic
  • Breathtaking waterfall less than 30 minutes walk from the centre of Gölling. You can get here with just ordinary clothes and shoes (although the guides claims otherwise). Just make sure to bring a camera to capture the beauty!
  • This place is amazing! you get to walk on a small bridge just on top of the waterfall.
