Create an itinerary including Gollinger Wasserfall
Thundering 76 m (249 ft) into the valley below, Gollinger Wasserfall represents one of Austria's most prized natural monuments. The waterfall has served as muse for many a Romantic period painter, aptly located a short distance away from a late Gothic pilgrimage church with a Baroque interior. The waterfall is a 3 km (2 mi) hike from the city center, and the trail takes visitors up a steep ascent over a romantic wooden bridge. The trail passes the "black brook," as it's called, and leads to the cave that sources the waterfall. You can drive part way up to the falls, but to reach the top you'll have to hike the remainder on foot. • It was fun, and I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s easy to get to and the walk is lovely. There’s a beautiful river with really clean water on the way to the waterfalls.

  • Really nice place. The waterfall is more impressive when you go all the way up. Relatively a short visit, but not too crowded, well maintained, and there are other trails to walk around. The only downside is that you need to walk ~30 minutes from the train station to the entrance, no bus goes even near there. Of course it's not a problem when you have a car.
  • Scenic and peaceful waterfalls with hiking trails. There is some restaurants and cafe near waterfall. The ticket cost is 5 euro and better pay in cash as it was showing error for me with credit card because of the low network coverage there. The hike is around 30 minutes and it'll take you to water source cave. But with say 5 minutes walk you can see waterfall which is beautiful.
  • Nice waterfall although big part of the trail is currently closed going up, but you can still have a good look at nearly every level to the waterfall. The top part is closed so it cant be viewed from above but there can be great pictures taken from the ground level or as you walk up. Because half the trail was closed we only payed 3€/adult not 5€ which was a suprise but they know you miss out a part so i guess its fair this way. The restaurant is closed next to the entry and the place is not crowded although there are small time frames where a big group comes in its mostly quiet and nice to walk around.
  • This place was pure magic, especially as I got to experience it all by myself in the early morning. The waterfall is beautiful and the paths are relatively easy I enjoyed the hike and the view tremendously. Advice: go as early as possible to avoid crowds.
  • This was a majestic hidden gem!! The walking trails, the river flow and the amazing water falls is just breathtaking,, It was a great experience,, With reasonable admission prices,, Best time is as early as you can, so you get the whole view, and less visitor allowing you to get great personal pictures,,
