  • This is a marvelous project. Here you can see in person, how castles are built. On this site they are actually building a castle, with the same materials and ways - as how it was done in the old days....  more »
  • An outstanding program with extremely interesting guidance both in German and English if required. This place is worth visiting every two or three years to monitor the progress of the building.  more »
  • Friesach is a lovely medieval town and worth visiting in its own right, but this castle building site is an added wonder. They are constructing a 12th century typical Alpine castle on a hill very clos...  more »

  • In the advertising folders it looks completely different. I thought you were going to the castle and then you can learn something about the Middle Ages ON the caste. But thats not the case. First you have to do some sort of workshops in the valley, which is mostly made for children and the you go with a group to the castle for a short tour through the castle. I was really expecting to explore the castle on my own, and that this workshops were optional. So please keep this in mind, the advertising folders really tell you something different. For people with children this could be a really nice trip.
  • Competent guides who experience life in the middle ages one can be.

  • You have to look at that. In a few years, we will see how far they've come. Highly interesting.

  • Castle building with "almost" medieval construction! The tour is very informative and takes about 90 minutes. At the entrance, a large children's playground is therefore ideally suited for families.
