  • Durnstein is a charming little village with lovely shops and restaurants. But if you're looking to burn off some energy, be sure to hike up to the remnants of an old castle on top of the hill. It take...  more »
  • The visit to the castle ruin is a very interesting program by the historical fact-Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned there. Throughout the climb, the story being told, between legends and facts. The view from up there is breathtaking. However, you need some fitness to get upstairs.

  • After I very often am in the mountains of this region, it is a fixture. The short walk from city centre takes about 20 minutes and is also suitable for children. Small stories go shorten the ascent to the ruins and tell the story of Richard the Lionheart
