Zoo Salzburg, Anif

(4.3/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Zoo Salzburg houses a riotous array of exotic and common residents in outdoor enclosures. Wander the zoo and you'll be greeted by 1,200 different animals representing 140 species from around the world. You'll pass through varied ecological zones and themed areas, including Eurasia, the African savannah, and the Americas, sheltering a collection of critters ranging from rhinos to river otters. You'll find that the zoo emphasizes housing animals together to provide a more realistic environment, meaning that multiple species from similar habitats run free together. If you've got kids in tow while at the zoo, be sure to grab a free cart, available next to the gift shop, to give them a ride around the exhibits. Zoo Salzburg is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Anif Edition.

  • First of all: we were with our almost 2-year old daughter for 5einhalb hours at the Zoo and when walking home gabs tears, because the visit was ostensibly too short ;-) I find the Zoo simply class! All roads are flat and therefore also with toddler good to deal with. For tired kids or backpacks/bags etc. can be otherwise also the practical jako-o rent carts. Again and again one comes past on playgrounds. The food in the restaurant was very good! While there are no elephants, giraffes or penguins in the Zoo z.Bsp, for this but you can watch many animals and their enclosures are designed very visitor-friendly. Usually with large glass wall, the animals without considering grilles look. Very good, especially the two Petting enclosure (goats, sheep) arrived at our daughter. A really great Zoo, very clearly designed and ideally suited for families with young children. We come back with safety!

  • Very nice place for a stroll on the 3-4 hours. You can feed the goats, pigs, birds. Especially memorable Aviary with wavy parrots. They can also be fed, they sat down on the Palm. There are Tigers, leopards, Panthers, otters, monkeys, funny meerkats and many other animals.

  • We were only as a couple there, formerly with our daughter. Always was there simply SUPER! At that time, we had also an annual ticket with our daughter. Always, we went to the Zoo also eat. I have loved her very much especially the salad buffet. It's just a shame that they can be not just food without also having to pay admission! But no matter, visiting the Zoo is well worth!
