The most unique aspect of the home is the octagonally shaped central room called the fortress, which is was designed to provide a clear view of all angles in case of attach from bushrangers or aboriginals.

Pine from the river forest was used for woodwork including the the ceilings, beams, floors, shutters and shingles.

Elizabeth named her home 'Bryamine', meaning 'rustic retreat'.

  • Well worth a visit to this very interesting homestead. Add to that the great beer and friendly staff makes this a must see when in the Yarrawonga area.
  • Damn good beer brewed here. Generally there is a very tasty dark ale or stout as well as the usual suspects like IPA done with skill and passion.
  • Such a charming place, filled with imagination and history.. The gardens are so spacious it's a lovely grassed area where you can sit and relax to enjoy a cool drink in the heat, with a nice breeze.. The brewery is excellent with a nice selection of beverages and our experience with the food was awesome, large serving and a fresh wide variety on show .. Lovely owners and thumbs up from us.
