  • Pretty views and a huge amount of chocolate to choose from. Worth a visit, you can even watch them making the chocolate
  • Americans will recognize the "causal dining" model. We arrived too late for breakfast and staff was overly rigid refusing to prepare an egg for my dining companion. Dessert of a lemon tart with a smal...  read more »
  • This is well worth a visit while in the area. The shop was absolutely busy when we were there but there was still plentyof room for browsing. The range is incredible and caters for all age ranges with...  read more »
  • Rude, and unpleasant staff. I went to get some chocolate samples for my client who is autistic and intellectually disabled. As the chocolate was not for myself, I had a napkin in my hand so I could give him the chocolate and the rude lady behind the counter piped up "just straight onto your hand!" and "only one scoop!" when I took a scoop of the 3 varieties on offer. What's the difference if I have a napkin in my hand!? Perhaps next time I will let my client get the chocolate himself and when he puts his hand right in the middle of the chocolate, because he doesn't know any better, you will appreciate that I got it for him...using a napkin that you seem to frown upon. Then when I went up again for myself this time, she was watching me like a hawk and started to rush over, probably to bark her pedantic chocolate scooping orders at me again, but I walked away before she did. Why bother offering samples if you're just going to be rude to customers for taking some?
  • I have passed the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery on many occasions but never had the chance to actually visit it until last Sunday with my wife. Considering how busy the venue is, I expected the chocolate to be of premium quality. Unfortunately it was not to be. Chocolate is supposed to melt in the mouth and have a soft creamy texture. We purchased a few examples including the much talked about Salted Caramel Macadamia Balls and a favourite of mine, Coffee infused chocolate blocks. In all the products we tried, the chocolate had the consistency of compound cocoa as one would expect to get from a budget home brand style of fare one gets from the supermarket, not the premium quality of product that I expected (especially considering the price they charge for them). The Lemon Sorbet Ice Cream was pleasant although my wife was not impressed with the Honeycomb Flavoured ice cream that she purchased. Quite disappointing really. To sum it all up; overpriced products of substandard quality.
  • Delightful visit for adults and kids. The dining area gets a bit full, and the outside dining can be windy, but you'll cope with that. The hot chocolate is excellent, and keep an eye on the cakes, they are tremendous.
  • Beautiful food (breakfast) and coffee. So much to choose from. Got here at 9:30 am on a Saturday and was already busy bit waiting times were reasonable. Staff were happy and accommodating. Pricey but well worth it.
  • Amazing location, great tasting chocolate with a huge range available. It was really cool to see the chocolate being made in the factory. Was really busy however and some products (such as the icecream) were way overpriced.
