Cave Nature / Park
At Ngilgi Cave, walk along the well-lit, steep and narrow boardwalks into the hot and humid chamber of this 500,000-year-old cave. The cave has a rich history related to the Aboriginal people who had lived there. As you descend 45 m (147 ft) below Earth's surface, be sure to stop and study the stalactites, stalagmites, and crystal formations on the way to the cave. Formations include Two Tonne Stalactite, the white Mother of Pearl Shawl, and the beautiful Arab's Tent Shawl. Observe the theater chamber with its superb acoustics: No wonder it has hosted numerous musical performances. More adventurous caving options and tours are available for cave aficionados. • Really enjoyed this, even with two kids and a baby. The semi guided tours are great, as you can do things at your own pace. Leon was a great guide.
  • An excellent cave so those wanting just a bit more than a walk around cave. Stairs, ladders and walkways will have some challenging areas for elderly. Worth a visit.
  • What an amazing cave to check out especially on a rainy day as you're away from the elements.
  • Great self guided tours. Kid friendly, even our 3 year old could walk around.
  • Be prepared to wait as you can not book a time, we had to wait over an hour. Tried to give this feedback to staff who were in receptive and mentioned that it is a usual occupancy to wait. To ensure you have adequate staff and not dissapoint a great idea would be to book your times which would also prevent masses of people waiting around.
