Hill Inlet, Whitsunday Island

Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.9/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web
Pure-white sands and vibrant blue waters make Hill Inlet one of the most visited tourist spots in the area. The inlet is located at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach, part of the Whitsunday Islands National Park. Best viewed from the lookout at Tongue Point, the inlet's white sands and blue waters blend seamlessly to create a sight most visitors describe as nothing short of breathtaking. You can take a boat to Tongue Bay and then make the short uphill walk to the point's lookout, but try to be there when the tide is low to experience this unusual fusion of colors. For those preferring a view from high above, helicopter and seaplane tours are also available. Put Hill Inlet into our Whitsunday Island vacation builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • This is truly spectacular and well worth the visit. A short walk that is not too strenuous, will get you to the top for amazing views.
  • The views from the Hill inlet on the Whitehaven beach is great, even if the viewpoint can be quite full. In addition to Outlook, you can Beach enjoy it still Betty for a short way.

  • The most picturesque beach I've ever seen. I have hiked and also flown over in a helicopter and this place seriously takes your breath away. An absolute must when visiting the Whitsundays. BEAUTIFUL
