First time visiting and it won’t be the last. Loved the hippo cove and the safari tour is a must, even if you just do that it’s worth the admission. Lots of great photo opportunities

Well, i had heard a lot about this and rating s are great. The experience was good but if i try to count what animals i saw, only a handful. Safari was good. Always try to take the seat in the driver's car. Best views and more context. Sometimes from the others cars you are not looking at the same thing your driver is educating you about.
A very fun experience! However, definitely recommend doing all the encounters as being an Open Range zoo, some animals are very far away and hard to see sometimes (obviously). As always with zoos, food and drink prices are high, so definitely pack a lunch/snacks and drinks to have in between talks/encounters. 100% do the Safari track as there's animals on that tour that you don't see just walking around yourself. Also recommend going during the week, was so nice and quiet and not too many people on the Tuesday we went. Overall, a fun and exciting day had!
Highly recommend this place for all ages, so many wonderful animals to see. The safari bus ride was the best, with an informative driver giving us the names and information about all the animals there. Only fault I could find is there weren't many gluten free options for food at the cafe's and kiosks, will maybe consider bringing our own picnic next time.
A great way to spend the day, kids loved it and the safari tour driver made the trip interesting and fun. We were lucky to be there a couple of days after a new baby zebra was born (not announced yet). While a lot of animals were resting during the midday sun, most were still visible and it felt like there was plenty of value from the safari tour alone, would recommend.
This zoo is really great, with the animals being housed in what is very close to their natural habitat. The safari tour is brilliant, with excellent commentary. We visit frequently, having purchased zoo membership which is excellent value. Every animal looks to be in really fine health, which is testament to how well they are being looked after. This is one of Melbourne's finest attractions.
