  • I Love the Werribee Open Range Zoo, the safari experience on the bus makes you almost believe you are in Africa. Sometimes the animals are wandering about and other times they are tucked up in the bac...  read more »

  • One of the best Zoo's I've been to. The safari tour is great and on a hot summers day it can kind of feel like your in Africa. There is nothing worse then Zoo's that feel cramped with animals that look sad and 'trapped'. Werribee has the space needed to give them the environment they need. Other things that make this a great Zoo is the layout and the other facilities there. There is one main place to eat by the entrance that does a limited menu, but quite decent food for a high volume tourist attraction... There are also a number of smaller food spots as you make your way around the grounds. A Zoo pass is also really good value and is valid for many other parks in Vic and (I think) a few other States).
  • Loved it. Went with our 9 month old and 2 year old. Wasn't over crowded and the animals were awake and active. Wished there was more to see but we spent a whole 4 hours there. The indoor ranger area was excellent and the kids loved it. Also gave our 9 month old a place to crawl around. My only complaint would be that the food was so expensive and ordinary.
  • Wonderful day out for adults and kids alike. Do yourself a favour and buy the zoo membership and see all the zoos all year as often as you like great newsletter and new animal info. Beautiful grounds and the safari bus ride is always educational and fun.
  • Awesome! Knowledgeable staff, well presented habitat's,cool animals! We loved the giraffes(majestically walking really close by as you cruise on the safari!), rhino's, hippo's(you can get pretty close to them too!) , and meerkats plus much more! Well done guys! ....Wish the bus was a little more frequent but this is not the zoo's fault! Would definitely recommend to friends! Also the overnight slumber safari would be absolutely amazing, unforgettable,.but unfortunately at a current asking price of $320 aud per person(May 2016) ,it is out of our price range (still cheaper than going to Africa for a night I guess!) ,but if you could afford it!
  • Love the zoo. A liitle hard to get to from Geelong as you must drive though Werribee but from Melbourne its a nice drive. If you love the zoo look at membership as an option you can use it at multipul zoos and it pays for itself after 3 visits. Take a packed lunch. There is a cafe at the zoo but expect tourist prices. $10 potato wedges, beef and bacon burger $19.50, kids meals arounds $10 (kids fish and chips). The safari bus is a must and is included in the entrance fee. Your member benefits include: Unlimited entry to Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Werribee Open Range Zoo Express entry 365 days a year Member events and exhibit previews Quarterly Zoo News magazine Discount on Zoo Twilights tickets, animal experiences and at zoo shops Free reciprocal entry to select interstate zoos* Membership prices Prices year Adult $90.00 Child (0-15 yrs) FREE Concession $75.00 Seniors $87.0
