Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / New South Wales / Blue Mountains / Wentworth Falls / Wentworth Falls Lookout
Situated within the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park, Wentworth Falls Lookout is the largest waterfall in the region, featuring two drops. The waterfall is near several aboriginal sites estimated at being around 20,000 years old. A lake formed by the cascading waterfall is a popular picnic spot, located just a short walk from the nearby village. You can swim or join the Darwin's Walk tour, named after Charles Darwin, who visited and researched the area. Be prepared for a lot of steps on the various walks offered, which can take you to the waterfall or to the nearby viewing platform. These steep trails are meant for all fitness levels, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Wentworth Falls Lookout reviews
Having driven past on several score occasions, I finally thought to have a look at the Falls! After doing so, I couldn't work out why I waited so long? An easy & short drive in off the Highway with..... more »
Absolutely beautiful falls. You can walk right up to them. You do not need to walk to the falls if you don't want to as you can see them from the highest lookout, but if you want a really up close... more »
We did the 1 hour return trip with our young kids and gosh was it worth it. The pay off at the end of the hour was a lovely view of the baby falls where the kids could walk around the water and feel..... more »
Beautiful place for hiking. All options available - easy, medium and difficult level walks. If one takes the route of national pass one can enjoy breathtaking views of Falls and pools to get a quick dip. There are 2 waterfalls that are accessible easily and quickly the third one takes about 3-4 hrs and steep steps to reach. Charles Darwin walk is closed at the moment. Overall a very good experience 👍
Short and wonderful hike towards the waterfall. Lots of stairs when coming back up from the bottom of waterfall but really worth it going down at the bottom. Amazing views. Just one of the wonderful trails around the blue mountains
Beautiful place!! This was our first visit and the weather was just perfect. Word if caution to anyone attempting to go the whole way down there are places where the steps are really steep so it's a good idea to make sure you are not holding things like bottles or phones as you will need both hands to hold onto something. For anyone not wanting to do the entire climb especially people with small kids the best option is to stop at the pool at the topwhich is a great shallow enclosed place to relax for the young and old alike
Wentworth falls is an incredible waterfall to visit and simply a must do. This waterfall consists of 3 main tears which you access along the walk . The first main tear is like a miniature beach and can be reached from the lookout point in around 15-18 mins . The views from further down on the cliff edge walk are breathtaking and take you to the bottom of the falls and said to take around 1 hour and involves many stairs . This walk is every bit worth the effort even if it’s only to the first part of the falls, you take in beautiful views and it’s a perfect spot to cool off .
Worth visiting Wentworth Falls. You will find plenty of walking route with majestic views. Wentworth falls is just an hour and half drive away from Sydney. Also do check other walking route in an around. Three sisters -Echo point is not too far from here. It is just 15 min drive away. They got plenty of parking and toilet. But make sure to bring bottle of water along with you to keep hydrate yourself.
