Best known as a whale viewing spot, Logan's Beach is located on the eastern side of the city. This beach is recognized as a nursery site for the southern right whale. Most years one to three female whales come here between May and August, giving birth within days of their arrival. The young whale calves are reared here, usually departing with their female parents by mid to late September. Australian fur seals, little penguins, and dolphins also regularly visit this coastline. From the beach’s viewing platform, whales can often be seen even without binoculars.   • Stopped by to stretch our legs and some fresh air. It's clean and offers great views of the coastal line and ocean. Today no whales... but ... someone made an appearance which was pretty special ... t...  read more »
  • We stopped to visit this beach as part of our excursion along the Great Ocean Road travel, and although the day was not for bathing, we could make a small walk in the sand.

  • Wonderful facility well signed, ample car parking, short walk to viewing platforms. Great view of the coastline.
