Urimbirra Wildlife Park, Victor Harbor
(4.6/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
The Urimbirra Wildlife Experience gives you the chance to see more than 70 species of Australian fauna in their natural surroundings.

The paths through Urimbirra allow you to see the animals at close range and a walk through the 16-hectare site is a photographer's delight. Freshwater and saltwater crocodiles are on display, as well as venomous snakes, pythons and lizards.

Located just five kilometres from Victor Harbor on the main Adelaide Road, Urimbirra is an Aboriginal word meaning 'to preserve' or 'to take care of' and there is evidence on the site indicating canoes and shields were made from some of the trees by local Aboriginal groups in the past.

Visitors can interact with a range of animals daily.

Koala shows at 11am, 2pm and 4 pm;

Crocodile feeding at 1.30pm; and

Snake handling displays at 4pm.

  • Had a fantastic time! Cheeky lorikeets climbing on our shoulders and nibbling my earrings, a zillion pet roos for the kids to pat, koalas doing something other than sleeping, a beady eyed emu clan, some salties behind some decidedly short fencing(!), wombats, dingos, pea fowl, a well stocked gift shop and more. We were there a couple of hours and could have stayed longer. Definitely on the must see again list for our little tackers. Don't expect to see animals "in the wild" but if you are after a great time patting animals you normally can't, this is awesome!
  • Get up close with cute animals - saw a white peacock for the first time :) - Took the family out for a day trip and it was money well spent - will visit again
  • Nice place to be up close and personal with Aussie wildlife. Just two to three hours needed
  • Great wildlife park. Our overseas friends love it. Up close with koalas and snakes!
  • Excellent wildlife experience with many Australian natives. Get up and close with kangaroos, koalas and snakes. Cheap and affordable for a family expedition and close to Victor Harbor for a day trip.
