Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Ventnor

Reopened in 1956, Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit was an institution in the racing world with the 100 Miles Road Race starting there from 1928 to 1935. Nowadays, motorcycles dominate the track and speed by spectators encouraging long-distance drivers with calls of support. A multimillion-dollar renovation of the tracks began in late 2006, so the roads are safer and spectators will find more entertainment along the track to while away the time between passing drivers. • I teally enjoyed it, however I thought our family group of six would be enough for the race but we were put with five other people which made the race rather crowded, and it didn't help they were really aggressive when it came to passing us. Usually a good experience but 11 people is way too many. Also the other group had go pros and their own helmets so it was clear they were no interested in a fun laid back experience which was what we were after, but they were obviously friends of the people working so I understand how it happened. I would recommend this to anyone but would also recommend insisting you be put on your own heat, no matter if the guy running it wants his mates to ruin your time on the track.
  • After 2 years of promising the kids we finally took them to the Go Kart track @ Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. The welcome at the visitors centre is warm and friendly. After driver registration and payment its off to the Go Kart track, a scale replica of the GP circuit. The karts are relatively new and well looked after. Race time lasts for 10 minutes and they alternated between kids/family sessions and open racing. Lots of fun .. we will be back.
  • Best time you can have in your car without loosing your licence. Awsome track and open to the public.
