We stayed here for 2 nights, in the journey between Uluru and Kinghs Canyon; the property is strategically located, breaking the journey and saving a little on the accommodations offered by the Yulara Resort or from Kings canyon resort (after their crazy prices). This is the only alternative in the middle of nowhere ... Considering where you are, perfect rooms, with bath and shower (separate). You could maybe improve the soundproofing. The place has gasoline pump (same price about of Yulara), a bar (very Mr. Crocodile Dundee style) and a restaurant with great food. As throughout Australia there dwell in explaining how it works, for dinner we read the menu written on a chalkboard and knocks on the door to the kitchen to order (this is written in a small faded below). Then you pay at the bar and there you take drinks (avoid the canned beer Great north who didn't know from nothing). The way to get it all straight in the middle of the desert, make no mistake! PS the roads leading to Kings canyon, Uluru and Kata tjiuta are all paved fine, a 4 x 4 is useless.

We camped here for 2 nights, it was hot, windy and dusty, but that is the outback. Toilets and showers are basic but functional. The kids loved the sound of the cattle mooing at night. The back packer...  more »

Australiana at its quirky best. You have to try the port with its less than 'polite' nomenclature, a visit is a must.  more »

Very run down shabby roadhouse campground. One toilet cubicle in the gents (the urinal was overflowing) so queues to use the rather grotty old facilities. Shower door was so swollen I couldn't get out once I had shut the door. Camping is behind the roadhouse next to the cemetery. Dust and ants, no grass to speak of. You can have campfires. The kitchen is one BBQ and a disgusting sink. Water and powered sites available for caravans. Not much positive to say here. Needs serious money spent on it, but it's cheap enough to sort of forgive it.

Great spot to stop and recharge. Friendly staff, good food, free campsite $3 for a shower when the camp cologne gets to much

Great atmosphere, average facilities but it is very remote

Good camp! Showers and bathroom and free camping. The showers are cold and you can have fires. Gets busy and therefore noisy though.

We stayed at Curtin Springs 3 nights in a row spending in excess of $1000 over the three days we were here. The staff were lovely and the service was great. We had our dog with us who slipped her collar on the first night we were here and was playing with the owners dog the owner then put the foot into our dog and swore and cursed as I was trying to get her back on the lead it was dark and she took off. On the last night here we were having a drink outside our room with the staff that we had met during our stay, before we departed for South Australia after they had gone to their rooms. At 11:10pm the owner, a larger woman came out and told us that we were making too much noise and that we had to go back to our room, which was less than 10m away. As I was trying to compliment her on her staff and the service that they had provided us she cut me off rudely and continued with her rant, I haven't felt so patronised in my life and had to bite my tongue. We were just having a normal conversation at that point. We have both worked in the hospitality business and from what we have seen of the owners of this establishment this is not how you run a business or treat your customers. The staff and facitlies are not a reflection of the owners however I do not wish to encouter this woman again. I gave this two stars soley because of the great staff and service that we had however I would not recommend anyone stay less they encouter this woman.
