  • We had a very rainy day in Torquay and gave this a go. My wife and I are not surfers but we both found it very interesting and we whiled away a god couple of hours here. Great visual displays and lots...  more »

  • Staff are friendly and there is obviously a deep love of surfing here. There is a good survey of surf brands, better-known Australian boards and surfers. But the museum also doesn't seem to have had a major update in a while and it shows: there is a little history of surfing in Hawaii, nor seem to be much mention of multicultural, nor indigenous communities' contribution to surf culture, nor the history of their access to or use of the beach. As a non-surfer, and compared to more up-to-date museums, it just feels very archaic and... white.
  • Nice attraction with plenty of information and exhibits. We went during winter so admittedly it was a bit quiet but the best part of this was that the staff were really helpful and friendly. The recpetionist even got the museum's curator to come and speak to us for a bit about the museum and what in particular to look for. A nice stop for any trip on the great ocean road if you're traveling from Geelong/Melbourne.
  • Really enjoyed visiting the Australian Surfing Museum. Lots of cool things to see
  • The museum is quite interesting to wonder around in and it was pretty good with some interactive activities. The tour was a little slow but if I could wonder around on my own it’d be better.
  • don't miss it great place to visit the curator and staff have done a great job it put me into a time tunnel and the memories came flowing back and it only cost a few buck .A place to be seen .
