Cobb+Co Museum, Toowoomba

4.5
See Australia’s finest collection of horse-drawn vehicles at Cobb+Co Museum, housing over 50 drays, sulkies, buggies, and farm wagons that tell the story of European settlement in this part of the country. Displays of elaborate Phaeton, Victoria, and Landau carriages give a glimpse of a slower-paced life. Don’t miss the exhibit of the original Cobb and Co coaches, including the last coach that ran from Yuleba to Surat in 1924. The museum has several educational galleries, which house a range of temporary exhibitions and workshops in heritage trades, such as blacksmithing, stonemasonry, calligraphy, and creative bookmaking. • Behind a fairly plain facade lies a treasure trove. I was astounded by the range of carts, sulkies, buggies and coaches (including three Cobb & Cos), all in such good condition. As well, we were able ...  more »

  • The Museum is definitely worth a visit and has something "of everything" (main focus on carriage, other topics include history/reptiles, technology/energy,...). The restaurant was very loud at lunchtime (a play corner for children is Center of the space and in addition a high ceiling in the), but the food is super (changing Quiche). Also, the staff is friendly and very helpful. The wait for food and drinks is acceptable.

  • Cobb & Co Museum is a very interesting place with diverse exhibits set in comfortable surrounds. Opportunities for learning by participation are provided across the age groups. The coffee shop is pleasant and comfortable too. Unusual gifts and souvenirs are on sale at the gift shop. The museum hosts special events such as the Hand Made Markets that featured today in time to purchase Christmas gifts and supplies.
  • My first visit despite living in Toowoomba for the past 12 months. Fantastic display of local and Queensland history. Great time with the kids and will be back again and again. Cafe was excellent, scones, coffee, chips and milkshake all fantastic.
  • Great museum, family friendly, interesting and good value. A must do on a visit to Toowoomba.
  • After I saw a group of old ladies enjoying devonshire tea, I could not resist. Next time I will order Lamington, it looks very temptiong, too.
  • Came from Brisbane to see the Da Vinci stuff and was quite surprised. I’m not really into museums so for a quick walk around it was ok.
