  • If you are interested in the history of the colonisation of Australia by the "convicts" (convicts), don't miss the guided tour of Sahara Island, the hardest deemed penal colony of the British empire. An excellent presentation, often coupled with the beautiful excursion to the "Gordon River"

  • Australian movie! True story, Van Demons Land about escape from sarah island penal settlement in 1822. All about the history of the time. Well worth watching. :-)
  • Crazy how convicts built the islands foundations with blue gums. Hospitable environment for human habitation but very beautiful.
  • Crazy place. Lots of history still there. Sarah island may not be as well known but it is well worth knowing and seeing.
