  • This is little isolated, head along the waterfront away from the city past the wharves and you will upon a large market. This appears to be a favourite with the locals and a great place to catch up at...  more »

  • Great food, but there wasn't really a lot happening besides the mediocre music and handfull of food trucks. It's a shame after hearing a lot of great things from friends.
  • It gets bigger and bigger - such a popular event on the Friday it is on. I hope for nice weather whenever it is due to be held. Picnic setting, lots of people, music and atmosphere aplenty. Generally a line at the food and drink stalls.
  • Fun night out with the family
  • Good range of Tassie food and drink. Live entertainment. Art and craft stalls.
  • Was ok, decent variety, I liked that it's doggy friendly but a bit too pricey, paid $13 for a pizza, only worth about $8, similar for a burger, paid $10,worth $8. Desert varieties were a bit poor.

Where to stay in Hobart

Hobart features a varied selection of budget and mid-range rooms located within striking distance of the central business district. You can choose from single rooms in small but comfortable hotels, or spacious suites with sweeping views of the Derwent River. If you want to avoid the central areas, look for rooms in North Hobart, where you can stay moments away from some of the city's finest restaurants. Throughout the city, backpacker hostels and pubs with rooms for rent provide another affordable alternative for those traveling on a shoestring.
