Explore some of the city’s most vibrant areas on The Spit Bridge, a well-maintained scenic track that is part of the route leading from the central business district to the Northern Beaches region. You can enjoy this classic walk, which starts at the iconic Spit Bridge, regardless of whether you’re looking for a little urban exercise, adventure in the bushland, or just a leisurely stroll along the city’s shoreline. Along the way you can stop at a number of lookouts to enjoy panoramic views of the city. There are several popular cafés just off the track where you can rest and grab a bite to eat. Whether you’re walking all the way to Manly or just part of the track, remember to bring your camera, and wear comfortable shoes. The bridge is nothing more than a way to travel from Northern Beaches to the City, not an attraction. Great place to start or finish the beautiful walk to/from Manly. Fantastic views along the way and...  more »

A beautiful walk taking about 3-4 hours.Stunning views of the harbour, walking in a bushland setting. Take your lunch and have a picnic along the way. In summer bring your swimmers as stunning beaches...  more »

Great bridge, opens up to let boats through at different times which is cool. The gateway to The Northern Beaches and the end/beginning of the Manly to Spit Walk which is a beautiful walk, one of the best in Sydney.

Great area. A few good restaurants and cafes near by. Amazing walking tracks and a perfect spot to set off for a day on the water.

So wish this bridge didn't exist! I seem to always see it in the vertical position ! But.... Love the history and the surrounding area

Where to stay in Sydney

Sydney offers visitors hundreds of lodging options in its central area, with choices suitable for most budgets. As expected in a major tourist destination, harbor views play a major role in determining room prices. Expect to pay more for ocean-view suites, especially if you visit at the peak of the tourist season or around big city events. If you don't need to stay in the center of Sydney, consider budget-friendly hotels near the airport, or look for smaller roadside motels in the city's South West neighborhood.
