  • As we walked through Chinatown we saw the sign at the front of Paddy's Market. We had heard this was an iconic market. Nah! This is the polar opposite of Salamanca Market (a must visit) in Hobart. Pad...  more »

  • A cool little market that reminds me of Southeast Asia. Good prices but quality depends on the product. The produce area is great. Get some bananas for the hotel!
  • This huge market is open five days a week, and has several sections. The general merchandise section is full of stalls selling clothing, bags, souvenirs, phone accessories, and the like. There is quite a lot of repetition from stall to stall, and prices are competitive. There is also a fish market, and a produce market. I love to shop at the produce market. The prices tend to be fairly good, and there's a huge range of regular and exotic fruit and vegetables, with some items that aren't found in the produce section at the supermarket. If you shop at Paddy's Markert close to closing time on a Sunday, many perishable fruits and vegetables are deeply discounted, as the market is not open the following day.
  • So much cleaner and organised! Great for tourists and also locals. Price isn't cheap for everything but definitely heaps of interesting things to look at / buy/ try! The further end is fruit / veggies / fish / deli / meat market which is fantastic! I much prefer fresh produce from the markets than supermarket's plastic - glad wrapped version! They are also friendly and lovely people too!
  • Would be a great place to get an outfit for Mardi Gras. So many wig/costume shops. However its mostly just souveniers, nick knacks and cheaply made accessories.
  • This is a go to place for extremely affordable well priced goods. Fresh Food! Souvenirs! Glasses! Toys and special authentic items that you would get if you are looking for something interesting and special. Lots of Tourists frequent this market. I especially like the the quality of the chilli's and fresh food at the bottom here. Have bought a lot of things here. The sun glasses shops and recently some T - Shirts.
