(3.9/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Sitting opposite the Queen Victoria building is Sydney Town Hall, one of Australia's grandest surviving buildings, and a stunning example of 19th-century sandstone architecture. You can take photos of the impressive interior and exterior: The details on the roof are particularly striking. The clock, which is illuminated at night, was built in 1883. Once nicknamed The Wedding Cake Building, the building features ornate carvings, beautiful stained-glass windows, and a pipe organ that is the largest in the southern hemisphere. • We visited this building as part of Sydney Open. The architecture is wonderful and it has been very well restored. The main auditorium is a fantastic space - and we were fortunate to hear the organist...  more »
  • First time here.. it used to be a cemetery to which they dug it up to build the hall. Gorgeous organ.
  • This is a building right across the street from the Queen Victoria Building on George Street so it is easy to see and worth some photos during the day and night as well as looks great lit. Its tower stands out by far, very beautiful.

  • A great Sydney landmark building when it was built and has been preserved well for us to enjoy now. Have been to many concerts, art shows and even school graduations over the years - its a building with a rich history and well worth a visit and tour.
  • This is a beautiful building. It is exceptionally lit up at night. Great for photographers.
  • Amazing hall. Have been to many events here and all of them have been very good. The location and architecture certainly add to the experience.
  • Tour operate every Tuesday or sometimes Wednesday. It takes about two hours. It's worth to take it. You can take a look back stage and history of its building. Also free concert of organ is held once a month,Monday. Except Christmas season, they changed small amount of money. The concert is so wonderful that you wouldn't be able to believe it's free. This event is highly recommended.
  • Beautiful building with lots of history and worth a visit to see. I went to a conference here, however and due to the shape and how old the building is its not every suited for it. I would recommend a conference at another place.
