Over the years, I’ve tended to avoid these gardens. Too many tourist, too many selfie sticks. Nice it has gone back the oasis it once was. And.......relax. more »

Since the beginning of 2020 I've walked through the Royal Botantical Gardens quite a few times. It is always a pleasure. As the song goes, "rest your eyes in shades of green." more »

The Royal Botanic Gardens are absolutely beautiful. They are a great spot for a picnic with family or friends, a stroll, or enjoying nature and the sea. There are so many beautiful plants and trees, and lots of people around; the gardens are really buzzing with a great energy. I loved walking around the seawall and taking in views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It was also really cool taking in the views of the city; what a contrast with the gardens and city so close, but I love it! Relax in the shade of a tree, go for a run, people-watch; oh, there is just so much to do here! Highly recommend!

Really well kept gardens. Lots of nice lush grass to picnic on, plus there is quite a lot of shade. Under the magnificent Fig trees especially. Go and be amazed by the fish in the lake! All with the backdrop of the city skyline, Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in view. Its a great way to spend a few hours at little or no cost.

Incredible gardens! You could spend a whole day here. It’s massive. The lily pond is beautiful especially when you can spot some lotus flowers blooming. If you love nature and plants, this place won’t disappoint. Great place to picnic or even sunbathe.

Great nature spot with amazing views on Sydney harbor and Opera house! Their plants are amazingly lush, there are lots of rare plants here that you cannot see anywhere else in the world. The Rose garden and the lotus pond are very cool. They also have a tree with lots of parakeets here. Come here for a picnic or for a romantic date and you will not be disappointed

Such a truly beautiful and calm place. Absolutely huge as well! It's definitely well maintained and all the gardens are quite picturesque making for a lovely destination for a variety of activities from a morning walk or jog, too a picnic with friends and even events. Accessible bathrooms and ramps with lovely views of the city (Harbour bridge, Centrepoint tower etc.) And multiple cafes and restaurants around. There are signposts on pretty much every corner, so if you're like me and get lost easily, then no worries! Definitely worth checking out, you can easily spend hours just exploring the whole place!
