  • Garden Island has been the major Naval Base and Maintenance facility for the Royal Australian Navy. It has a wide range of historic buildings, structures and places. The Naval Chapel is particularly beautiful. Has a beautiful park at the peak.
  • Lots of Naval history around.
  • Delightful spot. It's helpful to have an invitation from a navy officer, otherwise you're more limited as to where you can go, but even without that it's well worth a visit. Just make sure you leave by the last ferry, or you'll have a long wait until morning, assuming security don't arrest you.
  • Beautiful view
  • Has a public access area Northern part accessible by public ferry & a Heritage centre with a coffee shop.
