  • Dee why is a beautiful beach and a spot for surfers. Walk along the beach to the end of the Bay and along the golf course for a breathtaking clear view is free and invigorating!

  • New Years Eve (9pm only) fireworks was great!!! Less crowded beach!!! Great for walk in the morning or to spend the whole day at the beach. Good cafes and resutarants are easy to find as well.
  • Make sure you walk along the beach, all the way to Longreef! Absolutely worth it!
  • Great beach and not overcrowded. You are wasting your time if you go to bondi instead of this beach
  • There are a lot of beautiful beaches around Sydney, but the beaches in the city are always crowded, and here will give you a feeling of a holiday.
  • Walk the walk, Long Reef to Dee Why (or visa versa) surf the various breaks including that break behind the pool which dredges out revealing 'the rock' or the bombora at Long Reef in a decent swell. Used to be a fav spot for windsurfers back in the day. Choice of eateries, parking can be difficult even with a council "free parking" sticker. Enjoy.

Where to stay in Sydney

Sydney offers visitors hundreds of lodging options in its central area, with choices suitable for most budgets. As expected in a major tourist destination, harbor views play a major role in determining room prices. Expect to pay more for ocean-view suites, especially if you visit at the peak of the tourist season or around big city events. If you don't need to stay in the center of Sydney, consider budget-friendly hotels near the airport, or look for smaller roadside motels in the city's South West neighborhood.
