Clovelly, Sydney

(4.5/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Head to the beach at Clovelly to avoid the crowds on other stretches of sand around Sydney. Locals adore this beach, which sits on the point of a concrete-surrounded inlet, for its calm, clear water full of comfortable and lack of other visitors. Bring your snorkel to check out the underwater action and lay out in the clean sand or along the smooth concrete if you prefer sand-free lounging. You'll encounter the beach along the coastal cliff walk between Bondi Beach and Bronte. You cannot scuba dive here during the day between October and April. • This beach in "U" shape has the central part as a normal Beach, pool, etc; but the tips are as a platform (concrete) with steel stairs access to the sea. How is higher than the water level, people use it as a springboard. Sensational jump that crystal clear water!

  • This beach is a good place to get a tan, swim or snorkel. Bue to the entries like a pool the acces to the water is pretty simple. If you snorkel you get to see a lot of different fish.  more »
  • Paid $4.80 for a large takeaway flat white with regular milk... tasted like dishwasher water. absolutely ridiculous even for the eastern suburbs. do not recommend.  more »

  • It's a very different beach to a normal beach. I found the water merky and not inviting, there are rocks under water so you need to be careful. But it has a certain atmosphere to this beach that makes it inviting. There is a nice cafe that offers good food.
  • this beach has it all. surf calm water ocean pool. rocks and a place to snorkel. not to mention a great surf life saver club. life savers on patrol you guys a great keep up the good work.
  • Great spot to go snorkeling but there are lots of kids. But this place is good for people who are beginners when it comes to swimming because the water is quite shallow at the beginning and calm. Great family spot so can get little crowded and noisy if you want something more relaxing.
  • Nice place this beach quite small and don't have a lot of wave when I was there. And there is ocean pool next from the lifeguard camp(50m clean salt water without and seaweed. Nice for doing lap swimming). The lifeguard duty till 6 pm but you can came to the pool 24 hour. And there is free parking on the bay. Changeroom and toilet close at night but there is outside shower
  • Not your standard Eastern suburbs beach, Clovelly has a large concrete bank on either side, great for sunbathers and complete access to the water. High tide is the best time to be there when the water is coming fresh, sometimes the ladder entrances can be a little scummy at low tide. There's also great snorkeling to be had, and look out for Bluey, the famous grouper.
