Clovelly, Sydney

4.5
#4 of 17 in Beaches in Sydney
Beach Nature / Park
Head to the beach at Clovelly to avoid the crowds on other stretches of sand around Sydney. Locals adore this beach, which sits on the point of a concrete-surrounded inlet, for its calm, clear water full of comfortable and lack of other visitors. Bring your snorkel to check out the underwater action and lay out in the clean sand or along the smooth concrete if you prefer sand-free lounging. You'll encounter the beach along the coastal cliff walk between Bondi Beach and Bronte. You cannot scuba dive here during the day between October and April. Put Clovelly at the forefront of your travel plans using our Sydney itinerary planner.

  • Great clean salt water pool. Emptied ea week and refilled from the ocean. V good safe swimming inlet too. Clean white sand. A 6* gem. Easy Free Parking too! Clean change rooms. Coffee shop overlooks beach.
  • The beach itself is perfect for kids because it's a little bay with no waves. Although, not much space. If you walk a little more to the Sharks Point, it offers some great photographic opportunities.
  • best beach for snorkelling/diving and with multiple accessible entrances to the water, safe and easy for everyone to use. Start of a long and beautiful dive trail as well

Where to stay in Sydney

Sydney offers visitors hundreds of lodging options in its central area, with choices suitable for most budgets. As expected in a major tourist destination, harbor views play a major role in determining room prices. Expect to pay more for ocean-view suites, especially if you visit at the peak of the tourist season or around big city events. If you don't need to stay in the center of Sydney, consider budget-friendly hotels near the airport, or look for smaller roadside motels in the city's South West neighborhood.
