Farm Tourist Spot
Experience rural idyll just outside of Sydney at Calmsley Hill City Farm. The fully-functioning farm is home to sheep, goats, cows, rabbits, pigs, ducks, and peacocks. Pet and feed animals, ride on a tractor, watch farmhands shear sheep and milk cows, and take in a koala exhibition. You can take a break from the daily schedule of activities by grabbing lunch at the cafe. The farm also offers camping on a limited number of days from October through April. Reserve a few months in advance, though, because sites book up quickly. Our Sydney trip builder makes visiting Calmsley Hill City Farm and other Sydney attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Where to stay in Sydney

Sydney offers visitors hundreds of lodging options in its central area, with choices suitable for most budgets. As expected in a major tourist destination, harbor views play a major role in determining room prices. Expect to pay more for ocean-view suites, especially if you visit at the peak of the tourist season or around big city events. If you don't need to stay in the center of Sydney, consider budget-friendly hotels near the airport, or look for smaller roadside motels in the city's South West neighborhood.

  • Fun day out with the kids. Regular shows for the kids to participate in. Kids loved milking the cows and the whip show. The working dogs were very clever too! Good for all ages.
  • The best experience! Loved how every activity interacted with the children! We had the best day! So much to see and do..
  • Great place for kids. A lot of activities and the entertainment factor for kids is good. It's near and clean. Tractor ride is popular so be there early to get a ticket for the tractor. I have been there many times and I can see it's got a lot more busier in the last 18 months.
  • Great spot for a close encounter with a variety of farm and native animals. Like an Easter Show experience without the crowds.
  • Visited on NYE where Illuminate was being held. Reasonable entry fee ($2pp) and we got to pat some animals and watch fireworks. Great facilities, didn't interact much with staff so can't comment on service. Would recommend for young families.
