Bondi Beach, Sydney

4.2
#2 of 24 in Beaches in Sydney
Part of the Australian National Heritage List and one of the world's iconic stretches of sand, Bondi Beach is a must-see while in Sydney. About 1 km (0.6 mi) long and as wide as a football field is long, the golden sand and green parkland behind it provide ideal lounging space. If you plan to swim, head to the northern end; a rip-current on the southern end makes swimming hazardous but provides excellent surfing waves. If you visit during the summer, you might see whales and dolphins migrating from Antarctica to Australia's warm waters. • Good to visit once to be able to compare it to other beaches, but northern beaches are as good or even better than Bondi Beach and they are less crowded. Good amount of changing facilities are around which is a plus. You can find a good variety of food outlets close to the beach. No smoking or drinking on the beach.
  • One of the best beaches in sydney Every thing is close by and you can grab a bite or a drink while you are at the beach. They hire beach chairs and umbrellas if interested. I would have liked to see more showers available at the beach to avoid long waits when you are done at the beach. The car park is always full and costs $8/hour on the weekend if you are lucky to get one. Its probably worth parking on the streets before you get to main beach and either walk or catch a bus to beach as many people do.
  • wonderful beach. Great life guards very helpfull and caring. Plenty of washrooms and changing facilities. Nice outdoor workout area of you want to pass some time or you ca walk the boardwalk. We enjoyed the hike up to marks park the most.
  • One of the best beaches in the world! It's great and has plenty of water and sand yo offer. Only thing I would like to see more of is shaded areas/pergolas on the grassy area.
  • A lot of people coming down here and the beach still have a great color of sea water. Perfect for relaxing, sitting down enjoying the breeze. You can take train then bus to get here. A lot of trees so you can stay on the shade. Most of facilities are well provided. Heaps of cool restaurants and stores.
