Bondi Beach, Sydney

4.2
#2 of 23 in Beaches in Sydney
Part of the Australian National Heritage List and one of the world's iconic stretches of sand, Bondi Beach is a must-see while in Sydney. About 1 km (0.6 mi) long and as wide as a football field is long, the golden sand and green parkland behind it provide ideal lounging space. If you plan to swim, head to the northern end; a rip-current on the southern end makes swimming hazardous but provides excellent surfing waves. If you visit during the summer, you might see whales and dolphins migrating from Antarctica to Australia's warm waters. • Lovely place to walk and people watch. If you are a surfer great place to be. But if you like to swim just average. If you drive there parking is really expensive. Lots of restaurants, shops and touri...  more »

  • One of the best beaches in the world! It's great and has plenty of water and sand yo offer. Only thing I would like to see more of is shaded areas/pergolas on the grassy area.
  • A lot of people coming down here and the beach still have a great color of sea water. Perfect for relaxing, sitting down enjoying the breeze. You can take train then bus to get here. A lot of trees so you can stay on the shade. Most of facilities are well provided. Heaps of cool restaurants and stores.
  • Great atmosphere, even when it's crowded and the sun is hot. Slightly limited in on-site food options. The trail walk carved out through the elevating coastal clif face is refreshing and allows you to experience an alternative rock beach (over sand).
  • Atmosphere is amazing. Street art. Skate park. Great shops and food
  • Most Popular beach in the world. People go there for their passion. Feel proud to be a part of the Bondi beach. This is amazing place.

Where to stay in Sydney

Sydney offers visitors hundreds of lodging options in its central area, with choices suitable for most budgets. As expected in a major tourist destination, harbor views play a major role in determining room prices. Expect to pay more for ocean-view suites, especially if you visit at the peak of the tourist season or around big city events. If you don't need to stay in the center of Sydney, consider budget-friendly hotels near the airport, or look for smaller roadside motels in the city's South West neighborhood.
