  • We booked, ordered and paid two months ago. $105 and change per head for 4 courses. The menu was fairly specific, & many discussions around food intolerances were had, prior to deciding and paying. We...  more »

  • Just got home from the Gold Coast Melbourne Cup race day. Paid $21160.00 for a table in the DOME which gave me seating for 8 guests, a buffet lunch, and a drink package with table service. I was so excited to get away with friends and had such a wonderful time last year in the Gallery restaurant with the same type of package. Well what a disaster! SHAME on you Gold Coast Turf Club. You have taken money under false pretenses. The food was average , there was no table service because there just was not enough staff to serve anyone let alone table service. One bar open with four bar staff to serve over 500 paying guest at $270.00 a head. No staff to clear the tables so I sat with prawn heads and guts for over 3 hours. No room to put your drink on the table , no room to get out of your chairs because they packed as many tables in as possible . Air conditioning unable to cope with the amount of people shoved into the space. Impossible to walk around the table. Missed betting on 2 races as in a line 10 deep at the bar tying to get a drink. Stood in line for 1 hour as I listened to people abuse the bar staff through pure frustration. In the bar staffs defense there was no way possible they could keep up, it was a no win situation. If I could give a rating of Zero I would This was going to be an annual event for myself and friends. We traveled from NSW to go to this event . At the end of the day the lack of organisation and GREED ruined what should have been a great day out in a beautiful city.
  • Myself and 7 friends traveled from NSW to attend Melbourne Cup day function in the DOME, what a disappointment and disaster compared to last year in the GALLERY. We were told there would be table service, this was very minimal, food was average, wait time at the only bar was an hour plus and very short staffed. I felt very sorry for the staff who was working both the bar and tables as there was not enough of them and they were being abused by patrons. Too many people jammed into the Dome, not enough space to walk around the tables, air conditioning was working overtime therefore the room was extremely hot and stuffy. Tables were left for 2-3 hours before being cleared which left food scraps and seafood scraps smelling on the table. No shaded areas outside. Extremely disappoint for the amount of money which we paid.
  • Great day out. Safe. Food great but menu should change more often. Dress code should be more consistent in members area.
  • Goof atmosphere, need to do more about shaded areas and also not runni6out of CC & Dry halfway thro6the day!
  • Inferior. OH&S Disaster waiting to happen. Patrons off their head drunk (um, responsible service?) Walking in tight dresses and high heels through uneven dirt to equine crt during busy event to taxis?? Seriously? Plan better and utilize the car park next to the front gate or the actual built rank. 🤔
