Theme Park
Built in 1912, Luna Park Melbourne is Melbourne's historic amusement park located on the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay. This vintage park was the first of its kind built in Australia and has been operating almost continuously since opening a century ago. The site's main features include the iconic "Mr. Moon" face entry and flanking towers, and the Scenic Railway, which is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. You can also drop by the park's more modern attractions, such as the Crazy Coaster roller coaster, the Spider, Ferris wheel, and several other thrill rides popular with kids. • The tram stops right out the front so it's easy to get to, the journey was about 30 minutes (ish) from the city. It's much smaller than some other theme parks I've visited. We were there about 5 hours...  more »
  • Good family park at St Kilda. I went and walked around the park, I was a bit old for the rides. But should be fun for children and young people.  more »

  • When I was there The Great Scenic Ride was not available due to the weather.... But other than that.... This is one of the best theme parks I've been too. The people over there were kind. The food was alright. It was worth it. Great prices and great everything!!!! Highly recommend!!! I'll be there again next year!!!
  • Fun for kids..., There are few swings for grown ups... Plan during last 4 hours of the park. First 3 hr you can enjoy all rides in a sequence and last 1 hr you can re ride the selected ones as the queue is also very small in the last hour...
  • Fantastic day out. The staff were all friendly. Really didn't have any long waits for rides Excellent value for money with family package unlimited rides. Allowed outside and re-entry. So we had lunch on beach in walking distance with beautiful scenery.
  • We took our 9 year old daughter for her birthday and spent the afternoon on the rides. What a great day! Queues were short, rides were fun and well-maintained and the service was satisfactory. The park itself is great to look at (just look at that iconic front gate) - its permanence means that the wonderful buildings and decorations are a part of the experience (and something you wouldn't get with a travelling funfair). The food was OK but the fact that you are only a few hundred metres from Acland St which is filled with wonderful Melbourne cafes and restaurants offsets this. I love the fact that you can enter for free which enabled us to invite some friends and family who were not inclined to ride but could still soak up the atmosphere. We had a great time and would love to go again!
  • Awesome original artwork. Didn't go on any rides etc but they looked fun. Nice place to visit and happy entrance is free!
