Mad Max Museum, Silverton
(4.1/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
The first and only museum of its kind in Australia, Mad Max Museum is the product of one man’s passion and obsession with an iconic 1980s film character. The museum is owned and operated by Adrian Bennett, an Englishman who moved to Australia in 2006 in order to fulfill his dream of building a place entirely dedicated to Mad Max. Bennett built a huge compendium of original Mad Max items by scouring several film locations, and by connecting to other fans generous enough to donate numerous objects from their own personal collections. Drop by to see lots of Mad Max photos, costumes, original vehicles used in the movie, and replicas built by Bennett himself. • Really good,,, so many original pieces from Madmax 2 the hosts were great even gave my group a entry discount.
  • Good and interesting collection of costumes, masks, cars, etc. used in the movies Mad Max, above all in Mad Max II. There are also plenty of photos from the shoot. Must-see for the very fans. Nearby is Mundi Mundi, place where some scenes were filmed. For the not-so-fans, 7.50 Australian dollars which is the buy-in can be a little expensive.

  • Amazing gem in the heart of mad max land. Situated where mad max 2 was filmed. This museum is a must for any movie fan. They also have a little something from fury road. Absolutely recommended, made so much better with the knowledge of Adrian, Linda and family. Feel free to ask questions and submerge yourself into the post apocalyptic world of the road warrior...
  • A must see if you are in Broken Hill or Silverton. The owners are passionate, friendly and welcoming. Even if you don't give a stuff about Mad Max, check it out. Well worth the visit!
  • As a Mad Max fan this is meca.. a must visit. Heaps of interesting photos and stories and so much Mad Max.. Friendly staff who are happy to talk about it and tell you where to go to see the filming locations. A must visit and worth the 1900 km round trip just to see it.
  • Don't know what the hype is about. $7.50 entry per adult. Lots of LOL
  • We drove 1800 kilometers just to see Adrian and Linda and the museum. Was so worth it.
