Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web
The first and only museum of its kind in Australia, Mad Max Museum is the product of one man’s passion and obsession with an iconic 1980s film character. The museum is owned and operated by Adrian Bennett, an Englishman who moved to Australia in 2006 in order to fulfill his dream of building a place entirely dedicated to Mad Max. Bennett built a huge compendium of original Mad Max items by scouring several film locations, and by connecting to other fans generous enough to donate numerous objects from their own personal collections. Drop by to see lots of Mad Max photos, costumes, original vehicles used in the movie, and replicas built by Bennett himself. • We all love the movies so obviously loved this place. Heaps of cool mad max stuff. And so relevant to the town.
  • On our trip to Broken Hill we decided to visit the Mad Max 2 Museum at Silverton. It was only A$5.00 to get in, but was not worth that. Old and very tired. Doesn't look like it has had someone clean s...  read more »

  • Amazing gem in the heart of mad max land. Situated where mad max 2 was filmed. This museum is a must for any movie fan. They also have a little something from fury road. Absolutely recommended, made so much better with the knowledge of Adrian, Linda and family. Feel free to ask questions and submerge yourself into the post apocalyptic world of the road warrior...
  • If you're a Mad Max fan and you've made the decision to visit Broken Hill, then simply don't miss visiting this place. To be honest drove around 900km just to see this place and it was worth it, plenty of movie artefacts, behind the scenes photos and other great memorabilia. Whilst you're in the area be sure to explore Silverton and make sure you visit the Mundi Mundi plains lookout to where a number of scenes for Mad Max 2 were shot.
  • As a Mad Max fan this is meca.. a must visit. Heaps of interesting photos and stories and so much Mad Max.. Friendly staff who are happy to talk about it and tell you where to go to see the filming locations. A must visit and worth the 1900 km round trip just to see it.
  • We drove 1800 kilometers just to see Adrian and Linda and the museum. Was so worth it.
  • Excellent coz there's a private recording of background footage playing inside between the scenes plus photos and stories of the actors
