Mad Max Museum, Silverton

4.1
#3 of 10 in Things to do in Silverton
The first and only museum of its kind in Australia, Mad Max Museum is the product of one man’s passion and obsession with an iconic 1980s film character. The museum is owned and operated by Adrian Bennett, an Englishman who moved to Australia in 2006 in order to fulfill his dream of building a place entirely dedicated to Mad Max. Bennett built a huge compendium of original Mad Max items by scouring several film locations, and by connecting to other fans generous enough to donate numerous objects from their own personal collections. Drop by to see lots of Mad Max photos, costumes, original vehicles used in the movie, and replicas built by Bennett himself. • For the mad max lover this place is amazing. Adrian who runs it is fantastic, cheap entry, so inviting. I will be visiting again and again..
  • Was extremely dissapointed that the car that started it all these movies is shoved up against the wall behind chicken wire like it doesnt matter, that black 2 door falcon "Interceptor" should be the main attraction with a 360 degree viewing, so you can walk around it with out the interceptor there is no mad max 2 3 , or fury road. To me it needs to be set up alot better, leave the other cars as they are but have the INTERCEPTOR centre stage for 360 degree photos.
  • If you liked the films it's a great $10 they've some great stuff. I liked the stories from the cast. How they've collected and literally unearthed items. Video interesting too.
  • Unique experience! A must see!
  • Great stuff to look at. Very cramped. I would have loved to be able to see things better.but all in all a must see when at B Hill / Silverton.
