Not very big but a very nice zoo. You can feed kangaroos, you can hug a koala! You can walk through a bird gallery. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Small cafe with milk shakes and coffee. Big choice of souvenirs. Did I mentioned that you can HUG a KOALA?!
We thought this place was awesome. Great range of animals. We loved Stanley the cockatoo who chatted to us then cried when we left! Also loved it how we got to spend 15 minutes with the koalas feeding and patting them. Kids had a great time! Thank you so much!
Good place to visit in KI. Wanted to have the koala hugging experience, however weather was too hot for the Koalas. Still, visitors still get to touch them during the feeding times.
I didn't think the park provided a good environment. I thought there was insufficient space for the animals, very little grass for grazing and comfort, mostly dirt, and the bare pens and cages offered very little stimulation for the animals and birds.
Enjoyable. My 13 year old daughter loved it.

Where to stay in Kangaroo Island
Although most of Kangaroo Island remains relatively underdeveloped in a commercial sense, you'll find lodgings that include everything from spacious suites to economical hostels in communities like Penneshaw and Kingscote. The most expensive accommodations on the island, private cottages and beach houses near the water generally require a two-night minimum stay. For something more flexible and less expensive, consider one of the local campgrounds, many of which offer powered and unpowered sites, as well as cozy log cabins ideal for couples and families with kids.
