  • We visited the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park in the off-season. We were almost alone in the Park and with the animals. No other tourists, who are pushed to the fore. At the checkout, we got food, which we could use to feed the kangaroos and Wallabies. The animals were curious and very cautious, as they ate the food out of my hand. There was also a lead in the Koala exhibit. We learned a lot about the way of life of the cute creatures, could ask questions and stroke the animals. For additional 20 AUD could hold even a koala bear and feed with eucalyptus. Thanks to the off-season, every one of us certainly had the Koala for minutes on the arm. An unforgettable experience. A lifelong dream came true.

  • Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park has over 150 species of Native Australian wildlife and over 600 animals, you can see Koalas, to slithery Snakes, our feathered friends and everything in between great place to visit.
  • If you love animals and wildlife this is a must! Entry is 20$ for an adult. Included is some kangaroo food for hand feeding them. Koala petting is free at show-hours, but holding them costs 20$ extra. Not too much imo. Overall a friendly place with friendly staff. And i feel like the animals are threated well here
  • Totally loved it, must do for families. You can handfeed the kangaroos and wallabees, and pet the Koala's For a small fee you can hold a koala, my daughters did this and said it was the best day of their lives. The people taking care of the animals obviously loved them a lot.
  • It's amazing. You get to feed kangaroos and wallabies, and pet koalas for only $25!
  • Great variety of native animals who all appeared happy and ready to come close and be photographed.

Where to stay in Kangaroo Island

Although most of Kangaroo Island remains relatively underdeveloped in a commercial sense, you'll find lodgings that include everything from spacious suites to economical hostels in communities like Penneshaw and Kingscote. The most expensive accommodations on the island, private cottages and beach houses near the water generally require a two-night minimum stay. For something more flexible and less expensive, consider one of the local campgrounds, many of which offer powered and unpowered sites, as well as cozy log cabins ideal for couples and families with kids.
