Holm Oak Vineyards, Rowella

#6 of 51 in Wineries in Tasmania
Taste wines and ciders, and see how they process grapes at Holm Oak Vineyards. Although off the beaten track, the picturesque scenery and quality wines make this winery worth the drive. Try dry and sweet wines, and pick up a few bottles. The winery provides local cheese, salmon, and other tasty treats for a picnic. Take a stroll around the site to see the orchards and vineyard, and at the end go to the vintage cellars. Plan my Rowella trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • Wine dogs and pigs make this winery distinctively different. There is even a pen where you can feed the pigs apple. They also do some moscato and muscat dessert wines which is unique for Tassie.
  • If trying to decide which Tamar Valley cellar door to visit, be sure to put Holm Oak at the top of your list. Even for the experienced wine enthusiast, you will surely learn something from the friendly, knowledgeable staff here. Not only are their explanations thoughtfully detailed, the written tasting notes will sure prove enlightening, as well. For fellow pinor noir lovers, the supplemental 4 glass tasting flight is also highly recommended.
  • The cellar door staff are a credit to their employers at Holm Oak Vineyard.... Not only for the delightful friendly approach , but also for their knowledge, passion for their work , and their utter willingness to be helpful...I was highly impressed with their obvious "buy in" to the big picture and philosophy of the owners and managers. Congratulations to you this does not just happen .. it is cultivated by much effort skilful and subtle management....
  • Visited for the first time in July after seeing Holm Oak on the Vines TV series. Some very good wines being produced by Bec and Tim. I opened the 2017 Riesling last night, which was outstanding! I have not seen any reviews yet, but it will rate highly.
  • Narelle was very personable and knowledgeable Her interaction was first class attentive and interactive. A lovely setting we loved the Riesling,Pinot Gris, Wizard Chardy and the Muscat with white fudge
