  • The Zoo and garden are free of charge. In just close it has also free parking. The plants are well decorated. The Zoo now is not a reason for a wide trip, but is nearby and has free time he is worth a visit entirely. For the hungry fat's a kiosk with herb in the botanical Eng types.

  • We visited on New Years Day so it was pretty quiet but zoo was open and staff were around to share their knowledge. Considering it is a free zoo the range of animals is excellent. We arrived about 1.3...  more »

  • This is a real gem for Rockhampton. A great place to escape the heat - of which this place has the copyright on. Check out the Japanese gardens - it is so serene to come here either after a long drive north or south, or after work. There is a small kiosk that does sell some tasty food and cool drinks. Do check it out - even if you are just driving through Rocky.
  • An absolute gem! The Rockhampton Botanical Gardens were a surprisingly good find. The gardens are on par with many capital city Botanical gardens and when you include the Rockhampton Zoo, they are well worth a visit. Great playground for the kids and plenty of shade and cool areas on a hot day!
  • Were in Rocky and decided to visit the gardens to go bird hunting. The gardens are quite large and you will need a good hour to walk around them properly. Bird lovers paradise and we recorded 42 species in 2 hours. Recommend walking through the large tree section as there are some amazing trees and don't forget the war memorial and Japanese gardens located above the cafe.
  • Great place to drop in to give the kids a chance to run around. The zoo is nice, and the kids enjoyed seeing the animals. It was under renovation when I dropped in, but it was still worth visiting.
