Stayed in one of the Birdwings with my family for 5 nights late December 2017. The cabin is clean but everything was very basic, space is cramp inside with only 1 toilet to share. There are 3 split ai... more »
A great little spot to take the kids to cool off. Water was freezing, reef shoes would be an advantage. Huge fish is the water too. more »
Although walk to cascades is 1.2km, there are closer swimming holes to the carpark. Wide paved path makes access easy. Some of the access points have steps, while others (like the falls) are a bit har... more »
Great spot for families to cool off. Water cooler than most pools in the area. Be careful of rocks under foot and minor current from fall. Very clean clear water with fish swimming in area. Many spots to swim from close to car park to end of track at water fall. Approximately 1.2km to fall. Closer to car park better for families.
Beautiful valley with swimming pool after waterfall all the way up. Lots of easily accessible parts from the Main concrete path or more secluded spots if you’re willing to climb up the rocks. I’ve heard there are more spectacular falls in the area but for a quick dip easily accessible from Cairns, this has dramatic rainforest scenery and is well worth a visit.
Lovely place for a dip! Pristine and cool waters filled with fish. The fish seem to be used to being fed, because they come close if you offer some food in the water!
Nice place with clear and clean fresh water stream. Water is nice to swim in, just be careful of rocks that you don't cut your foot. Also has toilets and lots of parking.
Beautiful place with a nice paved walkway up to the waterfall. We we're lucky enough to see a snake and turtle on our way up. Be careful as its slippery and wet on the rocks when going for a swim.
