  • We had a great relaxing day at Montalto. Special shout out to Reece Hetherton one of your staff for mentioning it and making us feel so welcome. The lamb shoulder was delicious!  more »
  • We had such a delicious lunch with friends - sharing small plates of rustic, fresh food that was full of flavour. We've been a couple of times and it's one of my favourite places on the Peninsula. We'...  more »

  • Service was excellent and food superb. Not to mention the pino gris bottle. Love the views and serenity of Montalto. Always our first call when arriving in Red Hill.
  • Lovely wines, lovely gardens and sculptures, great pizza, HOWEVER the staff really need to be more accommodating. My husband and I showed up on a Saturday when it was busy, and we were casually dressed (meaning not in heels, makeup and upmarket clothes) and were overlooked by the staff for others who were better dressed. We were shoved in a corner and pretty much ignored until one of the older waitresses noticed we were being ignored. SHe pretty much saved the day as we were ready to walk out. Staff should be more accommodating and friendly to everyone that walks down those steps.
  • Excellent meals, and excellent customer service. Couldn't be happier. What's not to like? From. Food to service I give 5 stars
  • Wonderful winery and gardens. Unique experience for me. The views at the restaurant was gorgeous and the food was very delicate and unique also. Had ordered the 5 course package and was delivered beautifully presented dishes and very warm service. The wine was also great and really enjoyed the dining experience. Without a booking, there can be a long wait and a lesson learn for next time. Dining experience wasn't cheap but did feel value to dine as a treat occasionally.
  • I went to lunch with my wife and two children today. When we made booking, we clearly indicated the age our our children. 3 and one and half and the reception was okay with it. The dish came very slowly and my younger child became very unsettled. We played "kids you tube" on my phone to quiet him down. However this waiter in his 50s came to me and ask me to stop playing the video as it will interrupt other guests. The volume on our phone was really low and the background noise at a busy lunch venue is easily 3 times lounder. We had no choice and swith off the video. My son of course became very unsettled again and started crying. The same waiter came abruptly to us again and order us to take my son outside if he could not stop crying. We are thoroughly embarrassed and humiliated in front of all the guests and staffs. My poor wife had not choice but has to take my younger child out in this cold wet weather while I tried to feed my other child and finish the meal asap. We didn't finish the dessert as my wife could not come inside with my younger child. Overall, Extremely rude service and one experience we never had in our life and in any restaurant in Australia. We will never go back again and I recommend no one with young children should go as this place is not kids friendly at all. I think the restaurant should make it obvious that children are not welcome to save embarrassment for young families. Food wise, the entree is good and mains are very mediocre. After spent 230 dollars, it not worth the money and of course not worth the embarrassment. We will not go back again.
