Following a wander round the well laid out gardens I ordered a pot of tea and piece of apple pie at the cafe and sat at an outside table while I waited for my family. After 20 minutes I still hadn't r...  more »

I drive past the gardens all the time and I always say I must go in there one day and have a look, so over the weekend I finally did. There is an onsite cafe that just has the basics, nothing flash, b...  more »

A nice way to spend a couple of hours enjoying some nice examples of Australian Flora. There is a great little tea house on site run by volunteers who serve great refreshments and some nice scones.  more »

  • The Botanic Gardens is a wonderful place to visit. The themed gardens, waterfall and wedding chapel are my favourite places. There is a vast array of different plants to see including a spectacular orchid house. And they are helping the environment, gold star from me!
  • I was so surprised with the gardens! I had never even heard of them until a friend suggested we go yesterday and I'm so glad we did! I took my 6 month old son in his pram and even though it absolutely poured the night before I had no problems getting around with the pram as the whole place is flat and has either paved or gravel walkways. The place is absolutely huge and there is plenty for kids to do including a cubby house and painting walls. There were lots of mosquitoes but we took tropical strength aerogard and had no problems. They had a great selection of plants for sale at half the price my local bunnings and the staff were absolutely lovely. The botanic gardens were incredibly beautiful and serene and at $2 entry per person it was well worth the price. I will definitely be back!
  • If you are happy to make a blood donation then this is the spot. Take a stroll along the Mozzie Breeding area (AKA Wetland Nature Reserve) and be sure to visit the feeding... I mean viewing area. Don't try this with a stroller unless it's up to seriously uneven dirt surfaces with the occasional large tree branch to navigate. Seriously, don't forget the Mozzie Repellent, I sprayed it EVERYWHERE and I don't think I've ever seen so many in one spot in my life. I wouldn't recommend with kids anyway.
  • Heaps of mozzies. Though once you get over that it has beautiful gardens.
  • Friendly staff all run by volunteers such a lovely place
