  • Great for families with little kids needing to burn off some energy. Enclosed playground just off the dining area for the bistro downstairs. Reasonably tasty food, good size servings too.
  • Had a meal one night-cost $29.00 per person smorgasbord-best one that I have been to-so much choice and a chocolate fountain with marshmallows-YUM.

  • Whenever I go out to dinner these days, I am looking for a fabulous family experience and this is exactly what we received on Friday night @ Port City Bowling Club. There is a bit of an art form to having a successful buffet. Finding that fine line between quality and price is difficult, not to mention maintaining 30+ dishes and keep everything consistently hot and fresh. The club did a great job of providing a variety of fresh salads and a range of standard Chinese and Aussie dishes but the real heroes for me were the pork belly and roast duck (just delicious), the king prawns (nuff said) and my personal favourite the freshly grilled satay chicken - fresh off the grill and sensational. After an excessive amount of food (The staff did a fabulous job of not making me feel guilty for being such a pig), I noticed the desert bar and the coffee machine. Luckily I reserved a little space for sweets and greatly enjoyed a small portion of pavlova, a little black forest cake, a marshmallow dipped in the chocolate fountain, a teaspoon dipped in the chocolate fountain then drizzled on the pavlova, a little chocolate mousse and a small scoop of vanilla ice-cream..... and of course the coffee! I was not the only one enjoying the food - the restaurant was packed. After we all staggered out with silly smiles on our faces (that are still there three days later), a really terrific band started up in the family friendly lounge area so we danced a few numbers which capped off a really fun outing. To the staff of Port Bowling Club Buffet. Thanks again for a fabulous night and thank you for being so understanding when my son created his own personal Matterhorn from soft-serve ice-cream replete with candy and sprinkles and chocolate sauce. You have given him a memory that will almost certainly be with him for life.
  • CHINESE RESTAURANT REVIEW only. Prices are up and quality is below the worst canned food. Since the big hype about the huge renovation, we have had high expectations. Tried the Chinese buffet once more and it is not fit for dog food. Sushi-wet garbage. I've never seen Sushi like this. Peking Duck- Oily morsels. Sad waste of a duck. Bain Marie food - Exactly the same crap range adopted from the previous owner, except it is worse. And as with the last time I was there, a few hours later a queasy gut. Food poisoning. The food temp is way below legal and some is downright cold. Food found in clean bowls, food found in clean cutlery. Hey, New Owner- You are doing EVERYTHING wrong. The rest of the club is excellent and staff are wonderful. We won't be going back to the"cattle trough" any time soon. Try the Drift Restaurant, downstairs. Much better. I hope Russell and Glenn, the managers, read these horrendous reviews, and do something. SACK THIS RESTAURANT MANAGER before someone dies!
  • The price is was not worth the food, there isn't much in the way of fresh food nor is there much in the way of variety. I asked the cook weather the food had been cooked in peanut oil due to no signs or anything and non of the cooks still wasn't able to tell me. The food looked like it had been sat out for days on end and tasted like it had been reheated. The time and money spent here is not worth it, you can get better food at a service station. .. I also didn't agree with the staff cleaning off the dirty plates right next to the clean plate and cutlery, every item of cutlery i picked up was dirty and the plates had not been cleaned the best either. I felt like i was eating other people's saliva. Over all i think there is much better places to eat in Port Macquarie, for the same price and that are cleaner.
  • Manager allowed people in front of us to walk in barefoot, against RSL dress code, then refused my wife entry because she had forgotten her picture ID. I had mine, but adamantly refused us entry. I will never grace an RSL again.
  • A lovely smorgasbord the variety& quality of food was great, we were in a group of 10 and everyone enjoyed their lunch.
