  • What an amazing place. Hiding amongst the gum trees is a safe haven for koalas that have been rescued after being injured. We were lucky enough to visit early in the morning when they were being fed - so most were awake, eating and some even running around. They all look so healthy despite their injuries. The fact that one mountain koala will never leave there because he was blinded by the Victorian bushfires makes the place even more special. An absolute must see place if you are visiting Port Macquarie.
  • A special experience you won't get at the zoo! (see below for TIPS) Unlike the koala encounters at the zoo, here you can meet them personally, come as close as a meter, without the crowds, and hear the story of each koala. The staff smilingly answers questions while feeding and nursing the koalas. After recovering, most koalas are going through adaptation before being returned to nature, therefore some won't be displayed and the number you can meet changes periodically. TIPS: Open for visitors daily 8am-4pm, you can call to make sure before arrival. When visiting, don't forget to write your names in the visitor book, as the place is funded according to number of visitors. It is also possible (though not necessary) to give small or big donations, and even adopt a koala (you will help fund the treatment for it and will receive stories and updates of your koala).
  • Nice little koala care spot in a fabulous setting, dedicatedly looking after some cute little creatures that had an unfortunate experience or human encounter :) & right next to the lovely Roto House.
  • Super fun, all the koalas were well looked after and super cute, we adopted Ocean Summer and were very proud to own a share in a koala so deserving of the money we put towards her!
  • We ended up here trying to find some of the HelloKoalas sculptures. This is a great place not only to see Koalas relatively up close, but to be able to contribute to their conservation as well. The Koalas housed here are all patients recovering from various things which have happened to them - dog attack/collision with car/fell from tree etc.
