  • A week's holiday at Port Macquarie was made all the more special by a great lunchtime meal my wife and I had at Cassegrain Winery. The food was delicious and well complimented by the lovely wine. The ...  more »
  • I hadn't been to Cassegrain for years. Whilst the way in was a bit confusing with all the road works going on we had a great lunch on a dreary winters day. It was cozy warm inside and the service was ...  more »

  • I'm not one to complain normally, but it was extremely unfortunate that the over all dining experience was terrible. My strawberry smoothie totalled $7 and was basically strawberry infused iced water. A glamorous cheese and ham sandwich will set you back $18, and don't expect the side of chips to come warm either. I had the quiche, which was nice, but over with in two small bites. It came with a 'side of salad,' which was one cherry tomato cut in half with a small handful of mixed lettuce. My mother had the duck, which she said was lovely. Dad had the steak which had a nice flavour but was over cooked for a medium rare. The view was pretty, but completely overshadowed by the terribly over priced and extremely underwhelming main meals. The table service was scarce, I will most likely not be coming back.
  • Knowledgeable wine tour staff. Non pretentious. Lovely place to have lunch with or without a tour. . The food is vineyard quality without the price tag you usually associate with that. Can even have wine with your meal at cellar door prices and take the part bottle hone if you prefer m this is handy if you're driving
  • It is really beautiful place and their wine is a kind of art.
  • Beautiful setting very friendly helpful non snobby staff. Even if you accidentally break a glass! Very strong full bodied winedc- ask for Jenny!!
  • Great wines one of the best food around, always friendly staff. Tesla Charging station is a bonus if you lucky enough to own one :)

Where to stay in Port Macquarie

As a well-established holiday destination, Port Macquarie offers a good number of places to stay. Most accommodations cluster in the town's scenic areas--at the mouth of the Hastings River and along the coast, as well as close to the beaches. While the town does feature several larger hotels, rental apartments and guesthouses outnumber them by far. If you're looking to stay outside town and closer to the lush surrounding countryside, you can choose anything from luxurious cabins to campgrounds.
