Food Tour · Day Trip
Hi, my name is Brett and I'd like to tell you what an afternoon on my Kuranda & Palm cove Tour entails.

Leaving at 11am means you can enjoy a morning on the beach, a visit to the Rainforest Habitat, go shopping, visit the Sunday markets or just have a long lie-in before I pick you up from your accommodation anywhere in Port Douglas. A late departure means we miss the queues and with a maximum of only 12 guests you'll be guaranteed personal service.

Our first stop is at the multi-award winning Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Enjoy a spectacular journey to Kuranda over some of the oldest Rainforest on earth and with 2 stops on the way you can wander around the boardwalks and visit the Interpretive Centre and learn all about the delicate rainforest ecosystem.

On arrival at Kuranda I'll be there to meet you and show you around this 'Village in the Rainforest'. Famous for its arts and crafts market. Kuranda has many other attractions including the popular Birdworld and Butterfly Sanctuary and boasts many great places for lunch.

After approximately2 hours in Kuranda it's time for a trip to Cairns on one of the top rail journeys in Australia. The Kuranda Scenic Rail follows the curves of the Barron Gorge as it weaves its way down to Cairns. Built over 100 years ago to link the coast with the mining towns of the Tablelands., this railway was instrumental in the initial development of Cairns as the major city of Far North Queensland.

I then take you to the beautiful Palm Cove for a scenic drive along the palm fringed Esplanade before stopping for a delicious 'Kuranda Cocktail' and a walk on the beach or jetty, before returning at dusk to Port Douglas and the end of our afternoon together.

  • Great tour with Dale yesterday. Good choice of stops and a very enjoyable day. Well worth the money. Dale was very knowledgeable on the history and current events of the area. A great tour guide.
  • This has got to be one of the single best Food and Wine tours I have ever been. It was a privilege to spend the day with Brett, he is truly a guy who goes above and beyond for everyone who joins him. I strongly strongly encourage everyone to go on this trip! A massively worthwhile experience at a hugely affordable price. I will be back to see Brett again for sure!
  • Excellent day and quality of places we visited was outstanding. Dale is very good guide and has excellent knowledge of the area. Great day out and plenty of great food to try.
  • An affordable price (even for a student such as myself) for such an incredible experience. Some of the most amazing food I’ve ever tasted, with opportunities that other tour companies can’t give you. 100% reccomend if you’re in the area.
  • STOP! If you are Australian or visiting Australia and anywhere near cairns or port Douglas you HAVE to do one of Brett’s outback tasting adventures. You think I’m kidding? I was ASTONiSHED at the level of planning and detail in this tour. Brett has crafted the PERFECT combination of environmental, culinary, and cultural experiences for your eyes, brain, and taste buds. The tour was worth the money just to see the platypus (2nd least seen animal on the planet) and I saw like 6 of them. This is AUTHENTICITY- the tours offer expertise in the regions history as well as a visible drive to maintain the local Australian agriculture. Don’t even THINK about booking one of those BS tours! If it’s not OUTBACK TASTING ADVENTURES you’re not outback, tasting, or even having an adventure!
