#6 of 10 in Things to do in Port Campbell
London Arch is an offshore natural arch formation in the Port Campbell National Park, Australia. The arch is a significant tourist attraction along the Great Ocean Road near Port Campbell in Victoria. This stack was formed by a gradual process of erosion, and until 1990 formed a complete double-span natural bridge. The span closer to the shoreline collapsed unexpectedly on 15 January 1990, leaving two tourists stranded on the outer span before being rescued by police helicopter. No one was injured in the event. Prior to the collapse, the arch was known as London Bridge because of its similarity to its namesake.

  • I was already almost finished all steps, but this is really worth it. You see the waves crashing against the rocks beeches and you know for sure that this bow is going to lose at some point and collapses.

  • Another cool place to see along the great ocean road. Got come really nice pictures. Wasn't as many people as the 12th apostles.  more »
  • less spectacular, less crowded but not less spectacular than the apostles, this nice natural arch, very close from the road is worth a short detour. It will only take 10 minutes and you'll be rewarded...  more »

  • One of many must see natural wonders along this stretch of coastline. A short walk to the view that anyone can enjoy.
  • A must watch if you are travelling to Great Ocean Road. Good scenic spot. Easy available car parking. Beautiful view when in the evening.
  • Great Ocean Road is simply fantastic. Beautiful, unusual rock formations, great ocean view, awesome wildlife if you're lucky. Sunset is the best.
  • Very easy and convenient walk from the car park. The view is very nice as well. The high tides can come through the Arch in a very stunning way.
  • The Arch might be a little bit less famous than some of its neighbors, but on the right day with the right tide it can be spectacular. Well worth the visit and only a short walk down a well made path to the viewing platform.
