  • A vision made a reality by a man with the means. Spread over 60 ha of Pokolbin wine region, it encompasses a dozen distinct garden styles, seasonal events, backed into a shopping village, a pub and a wine cellar door. The garden has been in a static state for almost 20 years, being a display garden. This has its drawbacks, retaining the same look as the last time you came, but is also means the plants are well established, for the most part. Well worth the trip, even to just take in the garden, see the surrounding village and visit the cellar or as a part of your tour of the Hunter Valley wine region.
  • Awesome and well maintained gardens. Great place for photography. I haven't been there during holidays season but heard they put up great lights and open rides for kids. Ticket price is quiet high though.
  • We visited in the evening for the hvg Christmas lights. It was great. My daughter had so much fun especially going on all the rides. They had delicious food stalls there too. Staff were very helpful. Amenities were clean.
  • The Christmas lights area amazing. I enjoy bringing my kids here. I recommend it. The gardens themselves are also beautiful when the roses are out. In terms of the Christmas lights there was a toddler section with jumping castles. My toddlers were getting taken out by older kids that were also using it. There was nobody policing it. It was pretty crazy. Can you maybe check this for next year? Set an age limit and ask the person on the door to enforce it please! It is so dangerous.
  • Recently we visited HVG to attend the Christmas Light Spectacular. What an amazing event! We purchased tickets online which saved waiting in any queues. It had easy access in and around the grounds which was great with a large pram. Only improvement i would suggest is management of parking (a challenge for any event).
