Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / New South Wales / Greater Newcastle / Cessnock / Pokolbin / Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard
2016 marks the 150th Anniversary of Audrey Wilkinson wines, one of the original producers in the Hunter Valley. The Wilkinsons were among the first to plant vines in the Pokolbin region of the Hunter Valley, and are recognised as pioneers of the Australian winemaking industry.Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Pokolbin trip simple and quick.
In 1866, the Wilkinson family acquired the present site of the Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard, and went on to enjoy great success as winemakers. Today, Audrey Wilkinson wines still have a distinctly Hunter Valley focus, with many of our wines made from vines on the original property.

The knowledge of all the staff is what blew us away. We were welcomed straight away and even told where we should visit next on our trip! Beautiful wines and gorgeous views. Definitely worth a trip here.We love to come back again......
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting experience with Bev! What a lovely lady and what an exceptional experience! Thanks Bev! Ps love the sparkling red!
Firstly I'd like to say this winery is in a beautiful location atop a hill with a fantastic view. If only for that, it's well worth it. I've been here many times before and always enjoyed the view and the wines. Unfortunately, our last sit-down premium selection wine tasting was marred by a 20+ Group of Indians who insisted on carrying on like a pack of drunken teenagers at a McDonald's party. A screeching rendition of 'Happy Birthday' was attempted no less than ten times in the span of half an hour, to the point we couldn't even hear what our wine presenter was saying. I like a celebration as much as anyone, but a boutique winery isn't the place to behave like a drunken football team to the detriment of all other visitors. Shame on the otherwise great staff for letting this go on for the best part of an hour taking their amazing establishment down to the level of an Irish pub at 4 am.
5$ per person wine tasting is well worth it. Views are phenomenal
Yes you can’t deny Audrey Wilkinson winery has amazing views, however as soon as we wanted to wine taste we were extremely disappointed to see very unwelcoming staff. Not one staff member gave us eye contact, not one looked up at us…essentially we were completely ignored. We were standing right in front of the wine tasting area (for about 15 mins) and we were not acknowledged. At the end of the day, we were customers, having travelled a long way and we were willing to make a purchase. We walked away unable to taste any of the wine from this place today, which is extremely disappointing since it is one of the oldest wineries in the region and we did expect a higher standard of hospitality. However, we were very happy & grateful to find Scarborough Wines (which we highly recommend). We had the complete opposite experience at Scarborough, the staff there acknowledge you, very friendly + welcoming & amazing wines!
