Queens Gardens, Perth

#4 of 13 in Parks in Perth
Garden Nature / Park
Located on a former brickworks site, Queens Gardens includes lakes filled with water lilies, huge displays of flowers, sprawling lawns, and a Peter Pan statue, replicated from a figure located in London’s Kensington Gardens. The park opened to the public in 1898, and during the years leading up to World War I, often served as an elegant garden party venue. A bench located at the very center of the park was gifted to the city of Perth by an anonymous donor, after a failed marriage proposal to his girlfriend. The bench, featured in the movie "Notting Hill," is inscribed "To June who loved this garden from Joseph who always sat beside her." Our Perth family vacation planner makes visiting Queens Gardens and other Perth attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Queens Park is not comparable to the Kings Park. It is located directly adjacent to the WACA Stadium. Anyone looking for a little rest in the big city, is right here.

  • This has become one of my favourite places to go and relax during lunchtimes in the city. Beautifully maintained, with few people and little to no road noise. You can sit here and relax or walk around...  more »
  • Park with a lake. Not very big, but peaceful. It's good to enjoy a picnic. Fewer people, some birds.  more »

  • Beautiful gardens. We got married here and the beauty of the gardens was captured in our wedding photos
  • Peaceful and relaxing especially for families... Recommended park in perth with beautiful surroundings including the Black Swan
  • An old quarry turned into pristine gardens. Many people come here to wed in the huge open gazebo and pretty surroundings. Ducks, lilipads and monet-inspired bridges galore! Grab a picnic basket, a good book, or the like - you'll be pleasantly surprised! Plenty of shade and clean restrooms.
  • A lovely place to chill and maybe even treat a book while watching black swans chase each other.
  • Beautiful park, perfect to relax, lots of grass to sit down an have a quiet moment, picnic or read a book. You can also find the original chair used in Notting Hill and replica of a Peter pan statue.

Where to stay in Perth

When you choose your Perth accommodations, remember that this city stretches over a wide area, which can cause issues for visitors with limited time to sightsee. The best way to remain close to urban transportation is to stay in the central business district or neighboring Northbridge, where you'll also find the greatest selection of hotels. To avoid the center's big crowds and steep hotel prices, consider booking a room in the coastal town of Mandurah, easily accessible by Perth's reliable suburban railway system.
