  • Far too expensive for an unpowered camp site, to be kept awake all night every night by people partying from several different sites, walking drunk through your camp and having violent outbursts, over...  more »
  • First, it’s off the grid, no service to bother you (but there is a payphone and you only need to drive 5min up the hill to get signal). Great campground with really well maintained amenities... I love...  more »
  • Getting back to nature at it's best. Great place for camping for the well prepared, whilst there is no electricity, there are running hot showers and flushing toilets. Camp sites are large, however th...  more »
  • Not a bad spot at all. But gets fairly busy - so as far as campgrounds go, it's got the pros of having facilities and other people, but the cons of lack of tranquility and a private slice of nature. At $30+ per person, it's on the steeper side. Also, take note: the gravel road leading in to Coolendel is no piece of cake. Overall, it might be good as a base; less so for a one night stopover.
  • Excellent camp site ! Pull up and camp where ever you like as there is no designated camp sites as such. The lady in the kiosk was extremely helpful and advised of the best camp spots for the kayak. Wildlife is a plenty within 30 minutes a peacock had wandered over to inspect my camp. Access to the Shoalhaven river is excellent only a 30 metre walk from camp to river bank perfect for kayaks and not a ski boat or jet ski in sight. The only downside was people not driving to the conditions of the unsealed access road, slow down and have your lights on when using the road as there are a few blind switchbacks and the road is relatively narrow. Other than that would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone.
  • The campgrounds are next to a nice stretch of the river. Visited by goannas, wombats, kangaroos, and peacocks. Some rapids of varying difficulty can be ridden with a small inflatable. A section of the upper river above the rapids is shallow enough to stand in while the lower part that the rapids flow into is deep. Canoes are available for hire to paddle the gentle flowing river. Great for novices.
  • Nice camping grounds. Secluded and well maintained. Entrance road is a bit rough
  • Very pretty location, Friendly staff, Good facilities and lots of nice camp sites. But needs a lot of Bush regeneration to get rid of the weeds
