After a morning walk we stopped at Witches Chase Cheese. Although they weren't officially making cheese platters, the staff were happy to accommodate. We selected a selection of Cheese and crackers, W... read more »
Located in beautiful Mount Tambourine, this boutique cheese factory has loads of delicious handcrafted cheeses. The Masdam in particular is to die for. Service is personal and prices on point. There i... read more »
Unfortunately when we came here the cheese board for $25 was not available. So we had to make up our own board. Which was ok but we would have loved to try the other one. The girl was really helpful a... read more »
Unfortunately visited today with a group who had previously booked. There was absolutely no organisation. They didn't even know we were coming although it had been previously booked and probably paid for or would have been on the day. Very disappointing.
Tried to make a booking for 10 people so sent an email 2 weeks prior - no response. Called during the week to make a reservation - on hold for 30 minutes. Makes me wonder what the service will be like. Think I might find somewhere else to go
Cheese shop used to be great but now they only seem to be interested in serving hipsters. Went there this morning, waited five minutes before anyone actually greeted us as it apparently took two people to serve one group who went through every cheese (we had enough time to watch and some actually went back for seconds). Got to the counter and asked if we could sample some cheese. Rude older gentleman behind the counter snapped "You can try three" and then continued his conversation with hipster party. There was no suggestions as to which cheese we could try, no smile, no greeting and no acknowledgment that we were potential paying customers. I think he thought we were there for a free feed and nothing more. When we politely pointed out that we had been waiting a while he said "You couldn't have, I never saw you." Which was strange as he'd actually come into the store while we were waiting in the 'queue' and then started to help the other server serve the group that was right at the counter. He then told us that we needed to tell him we were waiting. Which was even more strange as we did when we asked if we could sample the cheese and surely people who work in customer service learn early on to survey their surrounds for the quiet, polite people who are waiting for others to finish their business. Not worth it if you are going to be treated like rubbish - even for the brie - so we left. Really sad as they lost over $100 of sales in one conversation and some really poor customer service. If that's what it's like now with only 5 people in the store (us and the hipster party of 3), I would hate to see what it's like on an actually busy day.
A must-do if you're visiting Mt Tamborine. If you are eager to try a bit of everything they offer a cheese platter. Great for sharing with friends while sampling the beer from next door, or the local wine! We had lunch with a live band playing and the atmosphere was fantastic. A great little spot that's well worth the journey to Mt Tamborine on it's own!
Always loved visiting here for the cheese, beer and live music the atmosphere is great, however very disappointed in the bistro. Lined up for 10 mins to order food, moved down to the bar to order drinks only to be told we had to line up in the food line again as the bar didn't have a till? Staff where very rude when it came to where we could and couldn't sit. They didn't even offer to help us move our meals, drinks, cutlery. It was just "Can't sit there!" and rudely walked off. It's a shame because everyone else in the brewery and cheese shop had such great service and the rude staff in the Bistro just ruined the whole experience
