  • We went here with the intention of riding the old steam train and I'm sorely disappointed. We bought a ticket for both the museum and the train and I was with my mother at the time. We split up, since she needed to watch the boy we look after and I wanted to go look at the trains. When we had bought the ticket, they explained that there would be an announcement for when we could board the train and even though we covered most of the place (not outside, not somewhere where we couldn't hear..), we did not hear any announcement and missed the train. We actually watched it leave. My advice to anyone wanting to go to this; BOARD THE TRAIN THE MINUTE YOU GET IN THERE, DO NOT LOOK AT THE MUSEUM FIRST, JUST RUN TO THE TRAIN. Also! If you miss the train, no refunds! It wasn't even our fault.
  • Great place for train enthusiasts. Kids will love exploring the trains and memorabilia and even ride the steam train. ☺
  • Lots of old trains. Many you can walk through. The working steam train was the highlight though. Occasionally they have Thomas and old busses as well but can get pretty crowded.
  • Fantastic museum. The Thomas Day very well done. The train ride needs more zing. Perhaps a fat controller punching tickets etc.
  • Well worth a visit if you haven't been since the revamp and rebranding as much has changed. Well thought out arrangement of the collection and lots of history on offer to view.
