West Head, Bobbin Head and Kuringai Chase National Park generally are great places to visit for bush walking and mountain bike riding, with a variety of tracks from easy to hard, most of which have stunning views of either Pittwater or the Hawkesbury.
This place is a gem on the outskirts of Sydney. There are many walking tracks off West head road that you can take. Some are only twenty minutes long and others more challenging. I have walked most of the tracks and to do it during the week is best and also early. I have seen many animals on my walks such as: wallaby, eagles, echidna, snakes, monitors, black cockatoo and many more. I forgot to mention they have now made a track down to the old gun emplacements and its amazing.
This is my favourite local park. Specialities include bush-walks, horse trails and marina. Bobbin Head and Cottage Point provides refreshing breaks to sailors.
Amazing wilderness and waterways on Sydney's Northern doorstep. Great bushwalks and views. Much of the 1960's television series 'Skippy the Bush Kangaroo' was filmed in and around this park.
Spectacular views on most walks with bays, waterfalls and beaches a plenty. Hikes vary from easy to advanced so there's definitely something for everyone.Personal favourite is the America Bay walk
