Lowe Wines, Mudgee

4.6
Try the region’s award-winning organic wines at Lowe Wines, owned and operated by David Lowe, a local winemaker with over 35 years of experience. Lowe, a descendant of the original 19th-century British settlers, produces a wide range of wines, from popular reds to the limited edition varieties, carefully cellared for several years to let them evolve in the bottle. These special wines are tested frequently to determine just when they are at their best, and can be purchased at the winery’s cellar door. Stop by to learn about the art of winemaking from Lowe, or drop in for a quick tasting and a bite of locally-grown organic food. Check online for one of many special events held here throughout the year. • Top spot for a wine overlooking the garden. Staff were great and welcoming even though it was 40 degrees. Had a dog which wondered around and was a good conversation starter. Good experience  more »

  • If you only visit one vineyard whilst at Mudgee, although that in itself would be a travesty, make it Lowe. Firstly it's just beautiful. Secondly the wines are as fantastic as the staff. Am not sure w...  more »

  • Absolutely exquisite place. The service is fantastic, we were greeted by the boss and had a quick chat. He pointes us to a lady for some wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable, funny and overall just lovely. The wines are a really good variety and we took an amazing and unique bottle of Shriaz home. For lunch, I highly recommend the platter, which has some great sourdough, feta cheese, meats, chutney, oils, lettuce, apple and more. It was beautiful to see and even better to devour. You simply have to go here if you like good wines and food.
  • Excellent service, excellent wines, and the best cellar door experience. The staff should be commended. The atmosphere that you create and the way in which you care about the people who walk through your door is something special. An absolute highlight of the trip.
  • Super friendly staff made us feel right at home. Delicious grazing platter showcases local producers and the wine is excellent. Always awesome to see a wine maker producing consistently cracking wines with an eye to highlight the best of each harvest.
  • Had a wonderful experience today. Greeted as we arrived by Aaron and Sandy was wonderful taking us through their wines... Awesome staff... Lovely wines.... Spectacular reds!!!! Will definitely be back!
  • This place is great! Some amazing bold reds here, and the service is fantastic. The guy who looked after our group (Mike) for wine tasting was knowledgeable, accommodating and humorous. When he loaded our wine purchases up on a trolley unfortunately one of them became a casualty! RIP wine, and thanks Lowe Wines for entertaining us!
